Redmi K100 Officially Launched in China with 10,000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite and 165Hz Display
Redmi has officially launched the K100 in China. The phone was one of the most talked-about Redmi launches of the year, mainly because of its enormous battery, and now the full specifications and prices are confirmed.
It sits below the K100 Pro models in the range, but it still brings flagship power, a fast display and very quick charging. For buyers who care most about battery life, it is one of the most interesting phones Redmi has ever made.
Performance and Chipset
The K100 runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a true flagship chip, so heavy games, video editing and long multitasking sessions should all run smoothly.
It comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, using fast LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage.
Display
The phone has a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Scrolling and gaming look very smooth at that speed, and the screen supports Dolby Vision with a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits.
That brightness should help outdoors in strong sunlight. The phone also has an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner, which is faster and more reliable than a basic optical sensor.
Camera System
On the back, the K100 has a dual camera setup: a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor with optical image stabilization, joined by an 8MP ultra-wide camera for landscapes and group shots.
Selfies and video calls are handled by a 20MP front camera.
Battery and Charging
The headline feature is the 10,000mAh battery. That is far bigger than the battery in almost any other mainstream phone, and it should easily last two days for most users, or a full day of very heavy use.
Charging is fast too, with 100W wired charging to refill the big battery quickly. The phone also supports 27W reverse wired charging, so it can share power with earbuds or another phone when needed.
Software and Design
The K100 runs HyperOS 4 based on Android 17, including the Super XiaoAI 2.0 assistant for everyday tasks. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, NFC and dual 5G, plus stereo speakers tuned with Bose.
It comes in Black, Snow Rock White and Firefly Green, and it carries an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance, which is unusually tough for a phone at this price.
Price and Availability
The Redmi K100 starts at CNY 3,499, around $525, for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 12GB and 512GB version costs CNY 4,099, around $615, while the top 16GB and 512GB model is priced at CNY 4,499, around $675.
Pre-orders are open in China now, with sales starting on October 31. Redmi has not announced a global launch date yet, so buyers outside China will have to wait for news on international availability.
Final Thoughts
The Redmi K100 is built around one simple idea: a phone that does not need charging every night. The 10,000mAh battery, paired with a flagship chip and a fast 165Hz screen, makes that idea very appealing.
It is not trying to win on cameras, and the dual rear setup shows that. But for gamers, travelers and heavy users, the combination of huge battery, 100W charging and strong performance at this price is hard to ignore.
