iOS 27.2 Rolling Out with Siri AI in Five New Languages, Apple Pencil Support for iPhone Duo and 160 Security Fixes
Apple has started rolling out iOS 27.2 to supported iPhone models. The update brings a handful of useful new features, from wider language support for Siri AI to Apple Pencil support on the iPhone Duo, along with fixes for more than 160 security vulnerabilities.
It is one of those updates that touches a little bit of everything: the assistant, messages, photos, entertainment apps and the smart home. Here is what is new.
Siri AI Speaks Five More Languages
The headline change is for Siri AI, which is now available in French, Korean, Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese. The wider language support applies to the iPhone 15 Pro series and the iPhone 16 models.
For users in those languages, this is a meaningful upgrade. Apple's AI features have so far been limited to a smaller set of languages, and this expansion brings them to millions more iPhone owners around the world.
Messages, Photos and Creativity
The update also adds Suggestions in Messages, a feature designed to make conversations a little smarter, and Shared Albums in Photos, so it is easier to enjoy pictures together with friends and family.
On the creative side, iOS 27.2 adds support for SynthID watermarks in Photos and Image Playground. These invisible watermarks help identify images made or edited with AI, which is becoming more important as AI-generated pictures spread across the internet.
Entertainment: Apple TV, FaceTime and Music
Apple's entertainment apps get some attention too. The Apple TV app gains a new Simple Profiles feature, along with an improved Multiview mode that now lets you watch up to four live sports streams at the same time.
FaceTime's Dual Capture feature, which records from the front and rear cameras at once, now works in group calls as well. And Apple Music gets a fresh look, with a redesigned app and a new black-and-white icon.
iPhone Duo Gets Apple Pencil Support
One of the more surprising additions is Apple Pencil (USB-C) support on the iPhone Duo. Apple's foldable already stands out with its large inner display, and stylus support makes it a more serious tool for note-taking, sketching and getting work done.
It is a small change on paper, but it shows Apple is serious about making the Duo useful as more than just a phone.
Security and Availability
Beyond the new features, iOS 27.2 patches over 160 security vulnerabilities. That alone makes it worth installing as soon as it shows up on your device, even if none of the new features appeal to you.
The update is rolling out now to supported iPhone models. As usual, you can check for it under Settings, then General, then Software Update.
Final Thoughts
IOS 27.2 is not a dramatic redesign, but it is a solid update. Siri AI reaching five more languages is the biggest deal for most users, while the Apple TV improvements and iPhone Duo stylus support show Apple is still polishing the experience across its lineup.
With more than 160 security fixes included, there is really no reason to wait. Install it when it arrives, and the new features will be ready whenever you need them.
