Huawei Pura 90 Plus Live Images Reveal Kirin 9025 Chipset, 12GB RAM and HarmonyOS 7 Ahead of October 28 Launch

Huawei has already confirmed the Pura 90 Plus and opened pre-orders in China, but it has kept the phone's specifications under wraps so far. Now, display units spotted in Huawei's own stores have filled in one of the biggest gaps.

Live photos of the phone, including a shot of its settings screen, reveal the new Kirin 9025 chip inside. That makes the Pura 90 Plus the first phone to use this processor, and it gives us our clearest look yet at what to expect when the phone goes on sale.

Chipset and Performance

The settings screen on a display unit lists the Kirin 9025, paired with 12GB of RAM. It also shows the model number LCI-AL00 and a screen resolution of 2848 x 1276, which lines up with earlier reports of a sharp 1.5K display.

One tipster has described the Kirin 9025 as a faster, overclocked version of the Kirin 9020 found in last year's Pura 80 Pro. Another claim puts its overall performance about 19% ahead of that phone, and roughly on par with the Kirin 9030S used in the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max.

Display

The Pura 90 Plus is reported to use a 6.8-inch curved LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The live photos back up the curved design, showing gently sloping sides that set it apart from the flatter frames on other Pura 90 models.

Camera

Huawei has not confirmed the camera setup yet, but an earlier report points to a 50MP main camera with a large 1-inch type sensor. It is said to use RYYB colour filtering and a variable aperture, both of which Huawei has used to improve low-light photos in the past.

Software

The display unit is running HarmonyOS 7, Huawei's latest software. ## Design, Colors and Storage

Huawei has already confirmed the memory and storage options: 12GB of RAM with a choice of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. The phone will come in four colours: Dawn Gold, Obsidian Black, Sunset Purple and Snowy White. The Sunset Purple model in the leaked photos shows a smooth, premium finish that suits the phone's flagship position.

Price and Availability

Pre-orders for the Pura 90 Plus are already open in China, and the phone goes on sale on October 28. Huawei has not shared pricing yet, so that remains the last big unknown.
