Honor has quietly launched the Honor X8e 4G with a 120Hz display, a 108MP camera, a huge 7,700mAh battery and tough IP69K-rated durability, starting from around $400 in local listings.
Honor has quietly added a new phone to its X series. The Honor X8e 4G has appeared in Azerbaijan, and it is clearly built for people who care more about battery life and toughness than about flagship speed.
It is not a flashy launch, but the combination is unusual at this level: a very large battery, a high-resolution main camera, and serious dust and water protection in one affordable-looking package. Here is what the new phone offers.
Display
The Honor X8e 4G comes with a 6.87-inch TFT LCD screen with a 1,592 x 720 resolution. The display runs at up to 120Hz, so scrolling and everyday movement should feel smooth, and it reaches up to 1,020 nits of peak brightness for easier use outdoors.
Performance and Software
Under the hood sits Qualcomm's Snapdragon 685 processor with an Adreno 610 GPU. It is paired with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and Honor's RAM Turbo feature can expand the usable memory virtually for multitasking.
On the software side, the phone runs MagicOS 10, which is based on Android 16. There is also a dedicated AI button, NFC, and dual Nano-SIM support. Connectivity is limited to 4G, with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2.
Camera System
The camera setup is led by a 108MP main camera with an f/1.75 aperture, joined by a second auxiliary lens. It supports 8x digital zoom, and video recording goes up to 1080p, which is a limit of the chipset rather than a choice.
A 5MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
Battery and Charging
The real star here is the battery. A 7,700mAh cell powers the phone, which is far larger than what most phones in this segment offer. It supports 45W Honor SuperCharge wired charging, so top-ups should not take forever despite the huge capacity.
Durability and Design
Honor has also gone big on toughness. The X8e 4G carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, and it has an SGS Premium Performance certification for drop and crush resistance. Honor says it can survive drops from up to 2.5 metres in controlled laboratory tests.
It measures 168.3 x 78.54 x 8.3mm and weighs 218.5g.
Price and Availability
The Honor X8e 4G comes in Sunrise Orange, Desert Gold, and Velvet Black. It has appeared on Honor's Azerbaijan website, and local retailers list the 6GB + 256GB version for AZN 688 to AZN 820, which works out to roughly $400 to $480.
There is no wider global launch schedule yet, so buyers elsewhere will have to wait to see where Honor takes this phone next.
Final Thoughts
The Honor X8e 4G is a practical phone with a clear pitch: huge battery, tough body, and a high-resolution camera, without flagship pricing. The Snapdragon 685 and HD+ screen keep it firmly in the entry-level camp, but that is not really the point here.
If you want a phone that lasts for days and survives drops and splashes, this one deserves a look once it reaches your market.
